YANMAR encourages you to work with your dealer to develop a YANMAR micro CHP Performance Summary, which includes payback periods and ROI calculations. As part of this summary, carefully consider your unit’s estimated amount of annual operating hours to determine which YES Product Protection Plan is best for your needs.
Visual Inspection (VISU):
Visual Inspections are performed every two (2) years regardless of your unit’s operation hours. During YANMAR’s Visual Inspection, technicians visually check for vibration, leaking and other potential damage to the unit. Technicians also examine the unit’s operational condition using the YANMAR PC-Checker (laptop tool). The results of the Visual Inspection are used to determine part replacement needs for Top Overhaul Maintenance (TOH) or Major Overhaul Maintenance (MOH).
Regular Maintenance (REG):
Regular Maintenance is performed every 10,000 hours or at five (5) years of use, whichever comes first. Regular Maintenance visits include replacement of consumable parts such as engine oil, filters, etc., and Visual Inspections and adjustments. Visual Inspection results, as a part of Regular Maintenance, are also utilized by YANMAR to determine part replacement needs for Top Overhaul Maintenance (TOH) or Major Overhaul Maintenance (MOH).
Top Overhaul Maintenance (TOH):
Top Overhaul Maintenance includes all Regular Maintenance (REG) services, as well as additional replacement parts, including the engine head, rubber hoses and some electrical parts (depending on the condition of your YANMAR mCHP unit). Based on product condition, YANMAR will determine, at its discretion, which level of parts replacement is appropriate for your unit.
Major Overhaul Maintenance (MOH):
Major Overhaul Maintenance includes all Top Overhaul Maintenance (TOH) services, as well as engine replacement.
Labor and Technician Travel Time Coverage:
Comprehensive labor coverage, including technician travel time, for scheduled maintenance and breakdown failures caused by material or workmanship defects — similar to the standard limited warranty.
YANMAR Accessory Coverage:
Coverage is included for all YANMAR-sourced mCHP-related accessories such as remote monitoring, displays, inverters, heater kits, exhaust extension adaptors and electrical accessories (current transformers and transducers).
Factory-authorized service is available through the YANMAR Energy Systems dealer network in North America, Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean. You are not restricted to the dealer you signed up with.
Genuine Factory Replacement Parts:
Coverage includes 100% Genuine YANMAR replacement parts.
Coverage is fully transferable to subsequent owners.
If you are not completely satisfied with the YES Product Protection Plan for any reason during the first 30 days, you may cancel your contract at any time.
1. What is YES Product Protection, and what does it cover?
YES Product Protection is a factory-backed extended service contract for YANMAR micro CHP Systems. YES Product Protection covers a wide variety of parts and systems, as well as labor and technician travel time. YANMAR’s YES Product Protection plans are intended for new micro CHP Systems or micro CHP Systems that are still within their limited warranty period and meet all other eligibility requirements.
2. Is there a third party involved with this plan?
No. YES Product Protection is a factory-backed extended service contract. With YES Product Protection, there are no claims adjusters or inspectors to work with to determine the cause of failure. In fact, the claims process is identical to the standard limited warranty.
3. When does the YES Product Protection Plan need to be purchased?
Coverage can be purchased any time within the original 2 year limited warranty period.
4. When does the YES Product Protection contract begin?
The coverage begins at the time of commissioning.
5. Who will work on my mCHP System if it has a problem?
Your contract is between you and YANMAR America Corporation; therefore, you can have your mCHP System serviced by any of our Authorized YANMAR mCHP dealers in North America, Mexico, Central America, South America or the Caribbean. At the Authorized YANMAR mCHP dealer, a qualified YANMAR mCHP Service Technician will assess the failure and process the claim through YANMAR America Corporation.
6. Is there a deductible?
No. YES Product Protection does not have a deductible per claim.
7. Is the plan transferable?
Yes. YES Product Protection is fully transferable to subsequent owners. Please check with your YANMAR Dealer for more details.
